Book and Tea Pairings
Every year, reading becomes more of my life. I'm finding myself craving the magic of the pages. And there has been a lot of joy devoting time to growing & celebrating my new book club!
As tea also became a bigger part of my home the last few years, I thought it'd be fun to share some of my favorite books along with a recommended tea to sip while you read.
There's nothing like wrapping your hands around a warm mug or the first taste of an iced cold tea to help a story come to life.
A Fine Romance: Falling in Love with the English Countryside by Susan Branch
"Join Susan as she recounts her lighthearted ramble of discovery through the historical homes and gardens of art and literary heroes, along ancient footpaths, through wildflower meadows and fields of lambs, into tea rooms, pubs and antique stores. A Fine Romance is a work of art, part love story, part travel guide and all dream come true."
Earl Grey de la Creme: Traditional tea made better. Bold flavor with a *tiny* twist of floral. Extremely smooth and perfect with a splash of milk.
Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen
Magical realism. Family. Baking and cooking that can influence people's emotions. An old house steeped in history. And sisters needing to face their past.
La La Lavender: A fragrant white tea with lavender, spearmint leaves, lemongrass, and chamomile. Though gentle in taste, it fills your cup with spirit.
Beauty and the Beast: Lost in a Book by Jennifer Donnelly
"An original addition to the beloved Beauty and the Beast fairy tale, Lost in a Book follows the lonely, bookish Belle as she finds an enchanted book in the Beast's library called Nevermore that carries her into a glittering new world. There, Belle is befriended by a mysterious countess who offers her the life she's always dreamed of. But is Nevermore what it seems?"
French Toast: This oolong tea is a nod to Belle's heritage. With rose hips and pomegranate blossoms, orange peels and lemon wedges, pineapple bits and more - this tea is complex just like our favorite princess.
Mom Heart Moments by Sally Clarkson
"Spend the year with Mom Heart Moments, the first devotional by beloved author Sally Clarkson, and discover how as a mother you can draw closer to the heart of God. In a world constantly vying for our attention, it can be easy to get caught up in the chaos. Each day of this beautiful devotional offers encouragement and direction to become the mother God has called you to be."
Butterscotch Chai: Calming energy and cozy spices to warm your heart while you read. This blend wraps a blanket around you in the mornings.
DARE - The New Way to End Anxiety and Stop Panic Attacks by Barry McDonagh
This book is a game changer. It takes many of the other methods of coping with anxiety and turns them on their heads & rightfully so. With newer research and tons of testimonials from people all over the world, this book gave me a fresh perspective and has helped me deal with anxiety better than any other book. Also love the app/audios!
Stress Reliever: St. John's Wort and Ginkgo leaves provide some calm while lemongrass and apple & pumpkin bits bring flavor. This tea helps take the edge off daily life. Need something more? Stay Calm essential oil has your back. Diffuse it and put it on your temples and wrists.
